This article and the follow up comments suggest that plug-in hybrids [PHEV] are bad based on ignorance and misleading conjecture.  https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-54170207   1.  "Analysis from pressure groups Transport and Environment and Greenpeace suggest [plug-in hybrids] emit an average of 120g of CO2 per km. That compares with the 44g per km in official "lab" tests"   Firstly, they are pressure groups, they are going to biased (just as the official lab tests will also be biased).  Even if Greenpeace is correct and the figure is 120g of CO2 per km, then would that mean that a PHEV is then bad for the environmnent?  According to the SMMT New Car Report 2017, UK cars, the average new car emits 120.1g/km of CO2 see here:  https://www.lightfoot.co.uk/news/2017/10/04/how-much-co2-does-a-car-emit-per-year/  So, worst case scenario, they are not any worse than any other car.  However I don't trust the Greenpeace pressure g...

By happy co-incidence I got both a new (internet enabled) dishwasher installed and Photovoltaik on my roof. My model is a Siemens: SX758X46TE I was happy with the internet features called "Home Connect" (or "HomeConnect" with "FlexStart"). I can start the dishwasher and hand control to the app - then I can remotely start the dishwasher when I want to. Why? Because I can monitor my solar remotely and I can see when the battery is full and choose to start the dishwasher at the best time. But what if the Solar could automatically do it? I did not imagine that this was possible but the more I read about this Remote Start the more I discovered that it indeed was possible and also already works with the "Sunny Home Manager 2.0" that I have at home. Dear Siemens, I bought this iQ500 1.5 years ago - the writing on the front panel has worn off and become illegible after a short time! My previous washing machine, also a Siemens, did not have this problem after 10 years! The quality of this front panel is clearly defective.
